ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt? And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt” (Num 14:3-4)
PERSONAL PRAYER:
“Father, speak to me again today through today’s MTD, in Jesus name – Amen.“
Let me begin by letting you know that when you begin to move forward in life, voices will rise. Some will come from people around you, and some will come from within you, speaking fear, doubt, and discouragement. These are the same kind of voices that made the children of Israel want to return to Egypt, even after God had delivered them. It is what I call the voice of Egypt.
The children of Israel saw the promise ahead, but instead of moving forward, they said: “Let us go back.” They preferred going back to Egypt, even though it was a place of bondage. That is how the voice of Egypt works. It makes you feel like going back is safer than going forward.
It will whisper to you, “This step you’re about to take is too big,” “What if you fail?” or “You were better off before.” Beloved, you must understand that not every voice deserves your attention.
Beloved, in your journey of progress, you will always have two voices speaking to you, the voice of fear and the voice of faith. The one you listen to will determine your destination. Many people remain where they are today, not because they cannot move forward, but because they keep listening to the wrong voice.
Also, be careful not to make your past look better than it really was. Egypt may look attractive, but it was a place of slavery. If God brought you out, it means where He’s taking you is better than where He brought you from.
Don’t forget this: Progress will always attract criticism. When you start growing, not everyone will understand you, and not everyone will agree with you. But that is not a sign to turn back. It is a sign that you are moving forward.
Silence the voice of Egypt by continuing your journey. Keep moving. Keep believing. Keep taking steps. Your progress will justify the means.
PROPHETIC PRAYER:
Every voice speaking against your progress is silenced today, in Jesus name.
