TEXT: “Honour (Thank) the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase” (Prov 3:9 – Emphasis mine)

  • PRAYER: “Father, thank you because your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life into a better one, in Jesus name – Amen.”

Gratitude to God goes beyond verbal expression. It’s about putting your thanks into action through giving. Anytime you give to God, you are showing Him your appreciation for His blessings and provision in your life. Giving back to God out of gratitude for all He’s done for you is the true meaning of thanksgiving.

While saying ‘thank you’ to God is important, we must understand that thanksgiving goes beyond just words. Our actions should match our words, because it is what we do that shows we’re truly grateful. As we express our thanksgiving in the MTD Family, let’s prepare our substance to show God our appreciation.

The truth is, when you thank God with your possessions or resources, you’re acknowledging that He’s the ultimate source and owner of everything you have. You’re also recognizing yourself as a steward or caretaker of His blessings. Don’t just thank God with words or songs – also be willing to give your resources to Him as a demonstration of your gratitude.

Don’t let the enemy trick you into thanking God with empty hands. Remember how Pharaoh tried to get the Israelites to leave their possessions behind? Don’t fall for that same deception. Instead, give what you have to God as an offering of thanksgiving, just like the Israelites did. Let God have control over your resources, and trust Him to use them for His purpose.

PROPHETIC PRAYER: As you give God thanks with what you have this season, you will never experience down time in life in Jesus name.
