TEXT: “And he arose, and came to his father…and said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet” (Luke 15:20-22)

To enjoy restoration from God, it requires our repentance from sin and returning to GodSin is a robber! Repenting and returning to God is the fastest way to the restoration of what sin has robbed you of. “The LORD replied, If you return to me, I will restore you so you can continue to serve me…” (Jer 15:19 – NLT).

Repentance is turning away from sin and it’s habits and turning to God in service. Repentance from sin will facilitate your restoration – restoration of peace, joy, or whatever you have lost to Satan and his deception. Just as the restoration of the prodigal son was like a dream, so shall your own restoration be also when you return to God in repentance.

The prodigal son couldn’t have enjoyed restoration of all his privileges as a son had he remained in far away country. He repented, he returned and he was restored. You can’t abide in sin and ask that grace abound. The meaning is that you can’t keep on sinning and expect God to show you more and more kindness (Rom 6:1). If you humble yourself today, repent of your sin, pray, and seek His face, God will forgive and heal you. He will restore what sin has stolen from you (2Chro 7:14).

God can restore to you whatever you have lost. Psalm 14:7 speaks of the LORD’s restoration of the fortunes of His people. The Lord will restore your fortunes and you will rejoice and be glad once again. A great joy is waiting for you! You will experience divine restoration by the mercies of God.

If you have gone away from God, turn back to Him now; don’t postpone it. The Bible says: “Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD” (Lam 3:40). Is there any sin or shortcoming that you need to confess and repent of? Do it now, I mean now, and your restoration will manifest like a dream of the night.

PRAYER: Grace to live above sin and its whiles is yours today and always in Jesus name.

DAILY CONFESSION:
This year 2024, I am advancing in adversity because I’ve been redeemed to flourish in hard times therefore my life shall be full of wonders. Amen and amen.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: “Repenting and returning to God is the fastest way to the restoration of what sin has robbed you of.”
