ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel” (1Kings 18:42/45).

PERSONAL PRAYER:
“Father, open my heart to receive your Word today. Let it transform my thoughts, my actions, and my situation, in Jesus name – Amen.

An abundance of rain is a symbol of God’s overflowing blessing. When rain falls, everything changes, the dry ground becomes fruitful. Our life is ordained to experience this same kind of blessing this month. However, we understand that rainfall is a product of evaporation. The rain that fall from heaven is a product of the water that evaporated from the earth.

This pattern is the same, even in the kingdom of God. Something must go up before the desired breakthrough comes down.

Let’s see some examples:

In 1Kings 18, Prophet Elijah announced there is a sound of abundance of rain when there was no sign in the sky. Before the first cloud appeared, Elijah went up to the mountain to pray. Did you see that? His prayer went up first; then the rain came down.

Abraham obeyed God by offering up his son, Isaac. Because he released his ONLY son to God, God entered into a sworn verdict to multiply his seed like the stars in the sky (Gen 22).

What about the poor widow who followed the Prophet’s instruction to pour out her last bottle of oil. Her obedience caused the oil to multiply until every jar she borrowed was filled to overflow. The Widow of Zarephath gave her last meal to the man of God during a famine and her food supply never ran out (2kings 4, 1Kings 17).

Think of the young boy with the five loaves and two fish. He released his small lunch into Jesus’ hands, and that smallness fed over five thousand people with twelve baskets filled as leftovers (Matt 14).

All of these examples prove that our “rain” is tied to our “release.” This could be your time in prayer, giving, or simple act of obedience. What you let go of today determines the harvest you will see tomorrow. If you are waiting for a change in your situation, look at what you can offer to God first and watch how God will release a downpour of blessings upon you.

PROPHETIC PRAYER:
This season will not leave you in the same level, in Jesus name.
