TEXT: “He said, Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude” (Matt 14:18-19)
God spoke to us, the MTD Family that there shall be supernatural increase among us this month and beyond. This has formed the basis of our teachings from the beginning of the month untill now. In our anchor scripture today is the story of the multitude who were in the wilderness, tired and hungry with no hope of getting food to eat. However, Jesus, our Master, proved in that story that there is no hopeless situation as long as the right pathways are followed. The pathways contained in these verses shall be my focus today, tomorrow and the day after God’s willing.
When I say pathway I mean the route to take or what to do to achieve a particular goal. Our goal this month is to live in abundance of good things as our inheritance in redemption (John 10:10).
In this story, the Bible says that Jesus took the five loaves of bread and the two fishes from them, He blessed and gave them to the disciples to distribute to the five thousand men beside women and children. After eating to their satisfaction, the Bible says they had twelve baskets full as leftovers. This could only be God! He’s doing same for you and me this month, in Jesus name!
Hear me child of God, if God will increase anything in your life, He will first take it from you (1Kings 17). If He will increase what is not enough in your life, He will first take it from you. Jesus took the five loaves of bread and the two fishes from them first. To take something is to be in possession of that thing. God needs to be in possession of what you have now for Him to multiply it back to you. When what you have is not enough, hand it over to God who will in turn multiply same back to you. Jesus took the five loaves of bread that was not enough from them, blessed them and there was supernatural increase afterwards. Give God what is not enough now and you are your way to experiencing supernatural increase like the story above.
