ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it” (John 2:5)
SUPPORTIVE SCRIPTURE:
“And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net” (Luke 5:5)
PERSONAL PRAYER:
“Father, open my heart to hear you as I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional. Give me grace to obey you and position me for your divine visitation, in Jesus name – Amen.“
Divine visitation is for the purpose of our change of story. When God comes on the scene in your life, your entire life is bound to shift forward. But often, His visitation is preceded by an instruction, one that may not always make sense, but must be obeyed.
In Luke 5, Peter had laboured all night and caught nothing. Then Jesus appeared on the scene and gave him a seemingly simple instruction: “Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught” (Luke 5:4). Though this instruction didn’t make sense logically, but Peter said: “Nevertheless, at thy word, I will let down the net” (Luke 5:5b). That single act of obedience triggered a net-breaking, boat-sinking miracle.
At the wedding in Cana, when the wine finished, Jesus gave one strange instruction to the servants. Mary had earlier told the servants: “Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it.” They obeyed by filling the waterpots with water, and in response to that act of obedience, water turned into wine and the glory of Jesus was revealed.
Beloved, obedience may be uncomfortable, inconvenient, or even confusing, but it remains the pathway to divine manifestation. God does not always explain Himself, but He always rewards obedience. Every instruction from God carries the potential for provision and transformation.
The question now is: What instructions are you ignoring or postponing? What has God asked you to do that you are still debating or delaying?
Obedience doesn’t have to make sense, it only has to be complete. You don’t have to understand fully to obey immediately. God wants to visit you. He wants to change your story. But the door of His visitation opens when you obey His instructions.
PROPHETIC PRAYER:
Grace to obey promptly and completely is yours today. As you take steps of obedience this season, I see His visitation rewriting your story, in Jesus name.
