TEXT: “And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another” (2Chro 20:22-23)
OPENING PRAYER: “Father, thank you because your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life and shaping my destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”
Good news! God says your age-long struggle ends today. All He wants from you is to invite Him into it by praising Him today. Let go, trust God, and rejoice in His Presence as you give Him quality praise today.
Praise is a powerful spiritual weapon that invokes the judgment of God on our enemies. The story of Judah in today’s anchor scripture illustrates this principle, where King Jehoshaphat’s praise invoked God’s wrath against his enemies.
Moabites, Ammonites and Edomites ganged up against Judah with the intention to wipe them off (2Chro 20:1-2). King Jehoshaphat, aware of their inability to confront these three nations, sought God’s guidance (verse 3-4). God promised them victory and instructed Jehoshaphat to march toward the enemies (2Chro 20:15-17).
Jehoshaphat employed an unusual tactic. Rather than carrying physical weapons of war, they resulted to praising God. He stationed singers and musicians ahead of his army. As they praised, God ambushed the enemy coalition, causing them to fight themselves (2Chro 20:22-24). The enemies destroyed one another, leaving Judah victorious without firing a single arrow. Glory to God – Hallelujah!
What are we to expect as we praise God today?
- Divine Intervention: Praise always provokes God’s intervention, often in unexpected ways. Watch out! The Lord shall intervene in your life in an unusual way this week, in Jesus name.
- Victory Without Fight: Judah got their victory without firing an arrow. God fought their battle for them. I see God fighting for you this week. Don’t be distracted at what the devil is doing, focus on praising God today and He will fight your battles, leaving you victorious.
- Peace and Prosperity: Praising God brought peace and prosperity to Judah, establishing the reign of Jehoshaphat (2Chro 20:30, 27:6). As you praise God today, you shall enjoy peace and prosperity in the remaining days of this year, in Jesus name.
ACTION STEP:
Put your concerns behind you and praise God deliberately today. Before the week is over, your victory testimonies shall manifest, in Jesus name.
