TEXT: “But ye shall receive power, AFTER that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:…” (Acts 1:8a – Emphasis mine)
We are still in our week of Sudden Turnaround in the month of Power to Bring Forth in the Morning Tea Devotional Family. The Lord will show up in your life and affairs suddenly this week, in Jesus name.
Empowerment by the Holy Spirit is not a luxury for children of God, but a necessity if you will live a victorious life. Jesus’ example shows us that power is essential for overcoming temptation and fulfilling our purpose. If you will reign in life, overcome adversity and fulfill your divine destiny with confidence and authority, you must seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Matt 3:16-17; Lk 4:1-14).
I want you to be aware that genuine Power is only possible through the Holy Spirit. You cannot experience true empowerment until the Holy Spirit comes upon you. Take Peter, for example. Before the Holy Spirit came, he denied Jesus in fear. But after the Holy Spirit came, he boldly preached about Jesus, leading three thousand people to salvation! The transformation from fearful denial to bold proclamation was made possible by the Power of the Holy Spirit. Hear me, the Holy Spirit is the One who unlocks our potential and enables us to live with courage, confidence and impact (Acts 2).
When the Holy Spirit takes center stage in your life, His power unleashes a boldness that is unshakable, a fearlessness that is unquenchable, and a confidence that is unwavering. Just as Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and Power (Acts 10:38) and was equipped for His mission, you too can experience this divine empowerment. As you embrace the Holy Spirit, you will discover a boldness that is not based on your own abilities, but on God’s mighty Power (2Tim 1:7).
Beloved, I urge you therefor to hunger and thirst for a deep encounter with the Holy Spirit this month. Ask God to immerse you in His Presence, with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Lift your hands in faith right now and pray this prayer: “Father, fill me with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.” Be filled with the Holy Ghost, in Jesus name.
