TEXT: “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Eph 6:13)
As July comes to a close today, remember that if your prayers, fasts, givings and acts of service haven’t yet yielded the desired testimonies, waiting on God is the next step.
Waiting on God when prayer is yet to be answered or when what we expected from God is yet to manifest is one of the hardest things to do. There are times when we pray and trust God with everything in us, and we desperately need Him to intervene, yet nothing changes – same status quo, silence everywhere. At first, it’s easy to pray and wait with great expectancy for God to answer. But as the days, weeks, months, and years go by with no answer in view, we can begin to wonder whether God is even listening.
What to do at this period of your life is what I’m about to point out today:
- Don’t stop praying and don’t stop expecting. We can be tempted to reduce the intensity and tenacity of our prayers when the answers from God are not coming as expected. My admonition to you this morning is: don’t stop praying, don’t stop giving, don’t stop serving, and don’t stop trusting in God. Remember, only those who endure to the end will be saved.
- Remember, God is at work even when you can’t see Him (Hab 1:5). Just like Habakkuk, who wondered if God was listening, we often question God’s presence in our lives. But God was actually working to address the very problems Habakkuk prayed about (Hab 1:1-17). Dear child of God, don’t assume God’s silence means He’s not active. He’s working behind the scenes, even when we can’t see it.
- Ensure you haven’t rejected God’s answer. Honestly ask yourself: ‘Is God truly asking me to wait, or am I just seeking a different response?’ Many people remain stuck in life, not because God hasn’t responded, but because they have rejected His answer due to it not aligning with their expectations. Take a moment to reflect, dear brother/sister!
PRAYER: God will use your wait to prepare you for His best, in Jesus name.
