ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalms 46:10)
- PERSONAL PRAYER: “Father, thank you for the power in Your Word that transforms. May the Morning Tea Devotional today transform my life and destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”
This morning, I want to focus on the phrase “And know that I am God” in today’s anchor scripture. God says: “Be still, and know that I am God…” If we will experience sudden intervention, we must be aware of God’s abilities and capacity to take us through difficult times.
Many people are not sure of what God can do for them when they are faced with life’s challenges. As a result, they search for solutions in various places where there is none. But as a child of God, you must remember that your knowledge of God’s capability is what puts you above any situation.
It’s not about how many places you’ve visited or how many Pastors have prayed for you; it’s about what you know about God’s intervention that determines your solution. The word “knowledge” means to have an edge because of what you know. It’s what you know about God that puts you over life’s circumstances!
To drive this point home, I would like to replace the word “know” in the anchor scripture with the word “confidence.” So, we can read it as: “Be still and be confident that I am God…” This kind of confidence is what enabled the three Hebrew children to stand up to Nebuchadnezzar and say, “We’re not afraid of you or your fiery furnace” (Dan 3). They were confident that God would deliver them, even if they didn’t know how it would happen.
Confidence in God drives away fear and strengthens faith. What you know determines your faith, and it determines what you will dare in life. God won’t intervene in the life of someone who is fearful, ignorant, or cowardly. You must be confident in God when you face difficult situations, even when help is not in view.
Please note that the knowledge I’m referring to is not just head knowledge, but heart knowledge. Head knowledge alone won’t guarantee sudden intervention; it’s the heart knowledge that does. God responds to what you know about Him in your heart, not just what you know in your head.
PROPHETIC PRAYER: God will show Himself mighty on your behalf this season, in Jesus name.
