GOD’S DELAY IS NOT GOD’S DENIAL

TEXT: “For the vision is yet for the appointed [future] time It hurries toward the goal [of fulfillment]; it will not fail. Even though it delays, wait [patiently] for it, Because it will certainly come; it will not delay” (Hab 2:3 – Amp)

I want to say to you this morning that God’s delay is not God’s denial. If God is late in His response to your situation, it is because He is coming in a big way. Over the thirteen years after Ishmael was born, no doubt, Abraham must have wondered if the promises of God would ever come to pass. Like Abraham, you have been waiting for the manifestation of certain promises from God for some years, months or weeks now, if Abraham’s time came, I want to assure you by the word of God, your own time will come.

God said I should tell you to hold fast to the profession of your faith. What He promised you will still come to pass. Delay does not mean denial. God is not a man that He should lie (Num 23:19). A delay is not a denial, but a time that God is preparing you for the promise. Yes, it is very hard when we cannot see God in action but, that doesn’t mean He is not acting on our behalf.

You see? Satan always capitalizes on God’s delays in our lives to fill us with fear and doubt. The devil wants you to believe that salvation will never come to your family, that deliverance from that debt will never manifest in your life or that your healing or that of your loved one will never manifest, beloved, that is not what the word of God says. They are all lies from hell.

2nd Peter 3 verse 9 in the Amplified Bible says: “The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.”

If you are going through the fire right now and you feel like you have been to hell and back, then you need to hold unto the first part of the above verse. God’s delay doesn’t mean His denial. Trust him even when life doesn’t make sense. There is a purpose in what you are going through. Perhaps God is trying to correct your course. It could be that He is using these trials to teach you to lean more on Him, trust His timing, and strengthen your faith. Your answers will definitely manifest.

PRAYER: Your change of story has just started right now, in Jesus name.
