TEXT: “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man” (Luke 2:52)
When we say factors that attract favour, we mean the qualities, characteristics, or actions that make God and men to show us kindness. These factors can influence how God and men perceive and respond to us, making us more likely to receive support, help or opportunities. The factors we examined so far include:
- Repentance (Tue 7th).
- Godliness (Wed 8th).
- Trustworthiness (Thur 9th).
What more?
- DILIGENCE: One of the virtues that Jesus possesses is wisdom and from scriptures we understand that wisdom attracts favour. How do I know? Today’s anchor scripture says that Jesus was in favour with God and man because He increased in Wisdom and stature. We also understand from scripture that wisdom begins with the fear of God as it is written: “The fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom” (Ps 111:10)
It is important to know also that one of the pillars of wisdom is diligence. What is diligence? Diligence is a persistent and unwavering effort to achieve a goal. In Biblical sense, diligence is a persevering application of the word of God. Not only does it mean perseverance at something, it also connotes discipline.
The Bible says: “He that diligently seeks good procures favour:..” (Pro 11:27). The diligent always attract favour from God and man. God’s agenda for all MTDians this month is for us to experience uncommon favour, however, our diligence is paramount! Those who are diligent at what they do always end up as candidates of favour.
Be diligent in the assignment of God for your life and in the work of your hands. Give it what it takes. Deploy your energy into it. Morning Tea Devotional (MTD) is a product of grace but, by the help of the Holy Spirit we have been diligent in this assignment for 11 years this year. King Solomon said: “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might…” (Eccl 9:10). David developed himself until he was number one in playing instrument in Israel (1Sam 16:18). Beloved, come to a level in your life and profession where you can be considered first amongst every other person because of your diligence.
PRAYER: Receive grace to be diligent in life and in your God-given assignment, in Jesus name.
DAILY CONFESSION:
This year 2024, I am advancing in adversity because I’ve been redeemed to flourish in hard times therefore my life shall be full of wonders. Amen and amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: “Those who are diligent in what they do always end up as candidates of favour.”
