ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“…And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, And said to his servant, Go up now…And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times” (1Kings 18:42-43 Abridged)
PERSONAL PRAYER:
“Father, as I read today’s Devotional, open my eyes to fresh understanding in your Word. Teach me how to pray with persistence until my answer comes, in Jesus name – Amen.“
Beloved, I notice something in the story of Elijah, he didn’t come down from Mount Carmel until the small cloud appeared. God had already spoken to him about the rain, but Elijah knew that prophecy without prayer can remain unfulfilled. He understood that answers often come to those who are willing to stay long in the place of prayer.
Beloved, God may have spoken to you, given you a vision, or confirmed His Word through prophecy, but you cannot just fold your arms and wait. Like Elijah, you must stay on your “mountain” in the place of prayer until there is a sign. Even if the sign looks small, it is proof that your answer is on the way.
Many give up too soon. You prayed once, maybe twice, but because you didn’t see a change you desire, you stopped. Hear me, the delay is not denial, sometimes, it is the proving ground for your faith. Elijah sent his servant again and again, not because God was deaf, but because he knew that it is persistence that pulls the invisible into the visible.
That small cloud Elijah saw was enough to trigger his faith. It wasn’t the full rain yet, but it was the proof that God was working. Your small progress, the little shift in that situation, the one open door, these are your clouds. Don’t despise them. Rejoice over them, for they are signs that your rain is near.
I admonish you today to stay on your prayer mountain until your promise comes. Prayer is not just asking; it’s also aligning, building strength, and creating the right atmosphere for God’s Word to manifest.
PROPHETIC PRAYER:
I pray that the Holy Ghost helps you to stay strong in prayer until your rain falls, in Jesus name. Your eyes will see the cloud, and your hands will carry the promise this season, in Jesus name.
