TEXT: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Gal 6:7)

OPENING PRAYER: “Father, I recognize that your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, I ask that it penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life and shaping my destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”

First of all, I want you to know that, throughout our discussion this month, divine lifting and divine promotion will be used synonymously. Any reference to ‘promotion’ should be understood as ‘lifting,’ and vice versa.

Now, the truth is that everyone desires promotion at some point in their lives. Regardless of your current level, you strive to reach the next one. Whether you’re living in a one-bedroom apartment today and aspiring to a two-bedroom apartment, or already residing in a two-bedroom and planning for a three-bedroom or duplex – the desire for progress is innate in man.

Similarly, if you’re currently single, you may long for a family. And when you’re blessed with one child, you often pray for more. This inherent drive for growth and advancement is how God designed human nature. The Bible buttress this when it says: “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day” (Prov 4:18).

In life, promotion is desirable, but the means to that promotion matter. There are two distinct paths to lifting: divine lifting and manipulated lifting. Divine lifting is God’s sovereign plan for our promotion which is characterized by God’s timing, upright living, integrity, following God’s guidance and aligning with God’s purpose and plan.

Manipulated lifting on the other hand relies on human schemes, corruption, deception and exploitation. It may offer temporary promotion but ultimately leads to demotion, loss of position, reputation and emptiness.

For instance, some individuals resort to deceptive tactics to achieve promotion, which I refer to as manipulated lifting. This includes spreading lies about colleagues, engaging in immoral relationships with superiors, and sabotaging others to gain favour.

However, these deceptive strategies may yield temporary promotion but ultimately damage one’s reputation, relationships, and integrity. THEY ALL LEAD TO HELL. Hear me, whatever evil you sow on your way to the top, will lead you down eventually. That won’t be you, in Jesus name. Only God can lift and add no sorrow to it.

Beware!

PRAYER: I pray that your lifting today will not cause your sorrow tomorrow, in Jesus name.
