TEXT: “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries” (1Cor 14:2).
Today, I want to point out some of the benefits of praying in tongues. When I say benefits of praying in tongues I mean gains or profits of praying in tongues. Praying in tongues is profitable to us as believers. Jesus said: “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues” (Mark 16:17). One of the signs that we believe in Jesus is that we will speak with new tongues.
The NLT puts today’s anchor scripture as: “For if your gift is the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking to God but not to people, since they won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.”
One thing I want you to know today is that praying in tongues is designed by God to be a supernatural language. It cannot be studied, it cannot be learned in any college or university because it is not a natural language. Whenever you pray in tongues, you are speaking to God without interference. The devil cannot understand you and he cannot interfere with or intercept your communication with your Father!
Another benefit is that when you pray in tongues, you pray according to God’s will. If your desire is to pray according to God’s will, then pray in tongues often. The Bible says: “Likewise the Spirit also helps our weaknesses; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (Rom 8:26). If you don’t know how to pray for something or someone in certain circumstances, pray it in tongues. By that you are guaranteed by the word of God that you are indeed praying according to the will of God. This is why the devil tries so hard to keep us from praying in tongues. But that satanic deception is terminated today and forever, in Jesus name. Make up your mind today to pray in tongues at least 10mins daily.
PRAYER: As you pray in tongues from today, every confusion concerning any issue in your life is handled by the Holy Spirit for undeniable testimonies, in Jesus name.
