ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment” (Isaiah 41:1)
SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE:
“And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a ‘sound’ of abundance of rain” (1Kings 18:41)
PERSONAL PRAYER:
“Father, thank you for your Word. I ask that you minister to me through Morning Tea Devotional today, in Jesus name – Amen.“
Glory to God almighty for the success of yesterday’s Covenant Day of Mercy on Google Meet. Your new name shall manifest for all to see, in Jesus name.
In the supporting scripture above, Elijah said there was a sound of rain even though the land was still dry. This makes me to understand that before God changes a situation, He often speaks first, but only those who are attentive hear Him. During the drought, everyone saw dryness, but Elijah heard the sound of rain because he was attentive to God’s voice.
Beloved, a voice will speak to you in every situation you find yourself in. It can be God’s voice, or the voice of fear, worry, and doubt. The voice you listen to determines what you hear, and what you hear determines what you will see.
However, God showed us the secret of hearing Him in today’s anchor scripture when He said, “Keep silence before Me.” When we are quiet and attentive, God’s gentle voice becomes clear. Learn to shut out every voice that does not build your faith. Be attentive to God’s voice, and He will guide you, just as He guided Elijah.
