ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“…And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times” (1Kings 18:42-43).
PERSONAL PRAYER:
“Father, thank you for your Word to me today. Let it be a light unto my feet and a light unto my path, in Jesus name – Amen.“
Beloved, let me start by saying that if your rain will fall, remain on the mountain. The mountain here means staying in faith, staying in love with God, and staying committed in prayer.
Elijah went up to Mount Carmel to pray for rain. God had already promised rain, but the sky was still empty. There was no sign of change. Yet Elijah did not come down, he remained on the mountain.
He prayed and asked his servant to check the sky for a sign. The first time, nothing. The second time, nothing. Even up to the sixth time, nothing happened. But Elijah remained on the mountain, he refused to come down.
On the seventh time, a small cloud appeared. It was tiny, but it was the sign he was waiting for. Shortly after, heavy rain began to fall.
Beloved, the mountain is the place of prayer, faith, and love for God. It is where you hold on to God’s Word even when you cannot see results. Many people leave their mountain too early. They pray and believe for a while but when nothing seems to change, they stop believing. They come down from the mountain.
If you want your rain to fall, remain on the mountain of prayer. Stay in faith. Stay in the Word. Let your love for God remain intact. Don’t allow what you see to discourage you. Don’t allow delay to push you down from the mountain.
Your answer may not come at the first check. It may not come at the second. But if you remain on the mountain, the cloud will appear. And when the cloud appears, your rain will surely fall in abundance.
PROPHETIC PRAYER:
Grace to hold on till your rain fall is yours today, in Jesus name.
