ENDING THE YEAR WELL

Wednesday, 31st December 2025

By Pst Israel Olorunfemi

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof” (Eccl 7:8a)

OBJECTIVE:
“To help MTDians end the year intentionally in thanksgiving, letting go of the past.”

PERSIONAL PRAYER:
“Father, thank you feeding me with your Word all through the year, in Jesus name – Amen.

Glory to God for preserving us to see the last day of 2025. As this year comes to an end today, God is not only interested in how we began the year, but also in how we end it. Many people rush into a new year without ending the old one well. Hear me, ending a year well is as important as starting it well.

Beloved, this year may not have gone exactly as you planned. Some prayers were answered, others are still on your waiting list. Some moments brought joy, other moments may have made you sad. But through it all, God is faithful. So, ending the year well begins with our gratitude, acknowledging that we are still standing because of God’s mercy, not our strength.

Ending the year well also means letting go of old. You cannot carry offences, disappointments, and regrets of this year into the new year and expect to enjoy the new. Before the year ends in few hours from now, release what hurt you, forgive where necessary, and surrender what you do not understand to God.

Give more thanks to God today for His help this year, repent where you fell short, and trust Him for what is ahead in the new year. When you end the year this way, you will enter the next one with peace and full of hope for a better new year.

PROPHETIC PRAYER:
Whatever that will slow you down in 2026 will not cross over with you, in Jesus name.
