ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago” (Psalm 77:11 NIV)
One of the greatest enemies of gratitude is forgetfulness. Forgetfulness blinds us to the faithfulness of God and makes us see life only through the lens of what is missing rather than what God has done already. When you forget the past blessings of God, your hearts naturally drift into complaining.
And you know what? Forgetfulness magnifies problems and reduces our awareness of God’s goodness. This is why the Psalmist in today’s anchor scripture made a conscious decision when he said: “I will remember the deeds of the Lord…” Remembering the deeds of the Lord is not automatic, it’s intentional.
Beloved, how many prayers has God already answered that you no longer think about? How many dangers has He saved you from that you didn’t even notice? How many provisions have you enjoyed without pausing to say thank you Lord?
Forgetfulness is dangerous because it silently replaces thanksgiving with entitlement. It makes us feel like God has not done much, when in reality, He has done more for us than words can tell.
Beloved, deliberately sit down in these remaining days of the month to reflect on the year. Look back at moments you survived, breakthroughs you received, and battles God fought for you and give Him quality thanks in words and in action.
PROPHETIC PRAYER:
As you give God thanks this month, He will do more for you before the year is over, in Jesus name.
