ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you” (Prov 4:25 – NLT)
PERSONAL PRAYER:
“Father, as I read today’s Devotional, open my eyes to see your faithfulness. Strengthen my heart to stay focused on you. Let every expectation in my heart be fulfilled in your perfect time, in Jesus name – Amen.“
We give God the glory for a successful program yesterday. There shall be speedy manifestation of His Word in your life, in Jesus name.
One of the greatest battles of life is the battle of focus. Distractions will always come through delays, disappointments, and even unfulfilled expectations. But the secret of great men and women in Scripture is that they did not allow what they seer or didn’t see to stop them from believing what God had already spoken.
Our Lord Jesus is our perfect example on this. He didn’t lose His focus throughout His earthly ministry. He didn’t allow what His critics and detractors, especially the religious leaders, the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and the scribes of His day, said or did to make Him lose His focus. He knew His mission on the earth and pursued it without allowing any distraction.
What about Joseph? He saw the palace in his dream but was thrown into the pit, sold into slavery, cast into prison, and betrayed by those he helped. Yet he did not lose focus. David was anointed as king but spent years running from Saul before he sat on the throne, but he remained unshakable because his eyes were on God’s promise.
When your expectation seems delayed, it’s because God is working in the background to bring it to pass in His perfect timing. Losing focus in such seasons can lead to discouragement, wrong decisions, and even abandonment of destiny. This is why Hebrews 12:2 instructs us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith who was too focused to be distracted.
Beloved, don’t let delays, yet-to-be-answered prayers, or unmet expectations shift your focus. Focus is faith in action; it is holding on to God’s promises even when the evidence seems far away. So, I encourage you to stay focused!
PROPHETIC PRAYER:
Every waiting season in your life will turn into a testimony, and as you hold on to God, He will show up for you speedily in Jesus name.
