ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing… And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison… and his chains fell off…” (Acts 12:5-7 – Abridged)
SUPPORTIVE SCRIPTURE:
“Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night…” (Psalm 17:3)
PERSONAL PRAYER:
Lord, as I read today’s MTD, let it speak directly to my heart. Visit me through Your word. Let hope rise again, let chains be broken, and let this be the beginning of a new chapter for me, in Jesus name.
Let me begin by reminding us that the Prophetic Focus for July 2025 in the MTD Global Family is: “Divine Visitation for a Change of Story.”
Today, I want us to focus on the story of Peter in the prison. I titled it: “Divine Visitation in the Night Season.
The night season is a phase when the enemy believes he has the final say in your life. For Peter, it was a moment of hopelessness. Herod had killed James, and now Peter was next (Acts 12:1-3). He was heavily guarded, bound with chains, and surrounded by soldiers. It looked like the end for Peter, until God intervened.
In the middle of the night, when no one expected any help, God sent an angel into the prison. Light pierced the darkness, and chains fell off Peter’s hands. The iron gates opened on their own accord, and Peter walked out supernaturally, hallelujah! (Acts 12:6-11).
Beloved, your night season may feel like a trap, with no escape and no explanation. But if God could step into the prison that held Peter, He will step into yours this month. When the enemy set the date for Peter’s execution, God sent His angel for his rescue.
The church was praying for Peter. And God answered. Beloved, the effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous still provokes divine visitation. As a privileged Conveners of Morning Tea Devotional, we’re praying for you. You are not alone. Just as God responded to the cry of the early Church, so shall God respond to every prayer we make on your behalf this month. Your deliverance is in motion, and your miracle is closer than you think.
Every Herod assigned to your destiny shall fail this month! Every gate holding you shall open this season! The chains are falling off, the doors are opening, and your story is changing, in Jesus name.
PROPHETIC PRAYER:
God will visit you, and your deliverance will shock your enemies, in Jesus name!
