TEXT: “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Matt 16:24)
OPENING PRAYER: “Father, thank you because your Word has the power to transform. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, let your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life and shaping my destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”
Let me start this morning by saying that there’s no prize in life without a price to pay. To reach new levels, dear child of God, you must conquer new devils. The same applies to divine lifting. Jesus said in the above anchor scripture, “If any man desires divine lifting, let him get ready to pay the price” (Paraphrased).
As we all know, the cross symbolizes suffering. Everyone who follows Jesus must be prepared to carry their cross. Tough times will come; you will face challenges because of your decision to serve God. You will be mocked, reviled, scorned and ridiculed because you follow Jesus. My admonition to you this morning is: take courage, don’t give up and don’t give in.
One strong lesson I learnt from today’s anchor scripture is: no cross, no crown; no trial, no triumph. Gain will always come after pain. When you refuse to give up, your unpleasant stories today will surely end as glory tomorrow. Every promotion in life has a storyline. Your present circumstances are part of your storyline. Jesus accepted the cross, despised its shame (Heb 12:2), and now He’s lifted at the right Hand of God.
You will have to undergo tough times and die to yourself, saying, ‘Lord, let Your will be done in my life,’ before you are finally lifted up. Remember, tough times never last, tough people do.
Are you facing adversity right now? Remember that surrendering to God’s will and persevering will ultimately lead to your lifting. Draw strength from Jesus’ experiences and know that your trials will pave way for your triumph if you faint not. Your struggles are temporary, your faith will surely prevail.
PRAYER: You will not lose your crown this season in Jesus name.

DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2024, I am advancing in adversity because I’ve been redeemed to flourish in hard times therefore my life shall be full of wonders. Amen and amen.
