TEXT: “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God” (Rom 4:20)
OPENING PRAYER: “Father, I recognize the transformative power of your Word. As I read today’s Morning Tea Devotional, I ask that your Word penetrate my heart and mind, transforming my life and shaping my destiny, in Jesus name – Amen.”
Today is MTD Covenant Day of Mercy. Today, the Lord will be releasing to us the balance of the blessing for the month of September. What to do for this to happen is our focus this morning.
The most effective way to provoke the release of the balance of your blessing is via thanksgiving. The leper that returned with thanksgiving got the balance of his healing, he was made whole. “And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole” (Lk 17:17-19).
As someone rightly said, appreciation is an application for more. Now, what is thanksgiving? If you don’t have this understanding, you will not appreciate this mystery.
- Thanksgiving is acknowledging God behind every good thing in your life. Nothing good ever happened without God. Behind everything good is God. Your skill, your connection, your charisma, your promotion, your position, your wealth, etc., is a direct act of God in your life. You need to acknowledge this and give Him the glory that due Him. The Bible says: “If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart” (Mal 2:2). You won’t be a victim of this, in Jesus name.
- Thanksgiving also is appreciating God for anticipated blessing. That is, you need to thank God for miracles yet unseen. In today’s anchor scripture, Abraham was glorifying God for the unborn Isaac; and Isaac was born after 25years of promise. It doesn’t matter how long you have waited for your own Isaac, thanksgiving can enforce its delivery today.
When you thank God in advance, your life will advance in adversity. Is your dream, vision or aspiration look unaccomplishable? Thank God if you want it accomplished. What He said He will do, He’s able to do it without anybody’s permission or approval.
ACTION STEP:
Spend the best part of your prayer time today and onwards to thank God than to ask Him and you will see the manifestation of what you never asked for. Thank Him for one thing He has done for you this year. Thank Him for what you are respecting Him to do for you this year.
