TEXT: “Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted” (James 1:9)
OPENING PRAYER: “Father, I acknowledge that Your Word holds the power to transform lives. As I read today’s MTD, I ask that it transform my life and shape my destiny. By the Power in your Word, above only shall be my experience all through this month and onwards, in Jesus name – Amen.”
God’s manifest Presence guarantees our above only experience. However, one of the secrets to attracting this manifest Presence of God is joy. Joy is a spirit that attracts God’s manifest Presence. To fully experience God’s presence, you need to cultivate joy. You know why? When you’re joyful you will be praiseful, when you’re praiseful you will be Godful, and when you’re Godful you will be wonderful.
Excitement is one of the determining factors that guarantees constant divine Presence. It takes excitement to excel in life. The more excited you are, the more you access your high places on the earth. That’s why James, in today’s anchor scripture says that if you think you are in a lowly state in your life, rejoice, because it will exalt you.
The Bible records how David handled a devastating situation in his life. It says: “And David was greatly distressed, for the people spake of stoning him because the soul of all the people was grieved…But instead of giving in to despair, David encouraged himself in the Lord his God” (1Sam 30:6).
The constant joy of the Lord within you enables you to carry God’s Presence always. God has reserved the topmost place for you, but depression or lack of joy can hinder you from reaching there. Hear me; depression is Satan’s trap, designed to steal your joy and prevent you from fulfilling your destiny. Refuse to let him succeed! Choose joy, and claim your rightful place in God’s plan.
“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” (Prov 17:22). A broken spirit not only dries the bones, it also robs one of colourful destiny. No wonder Prophet Habakkuk refused to be broken down (Read Habakkuk 3:17-19).
ACTION STEP:
Be excited about where you are and what you have at the moment because only then will God make you to walk upon your high places.
PRAYER: Be filled with the spirit of joy from today. No more depression in your life, in the name of Jesus.
