TEXT: “And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth lbefore them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice” (John 10:4)
As we begin today, repeat this prayer after me: “Father, I acknowledge that Your Word holds the power to transform lives. As I read today’s MTD, I ask that it transform my life and shape my destiny. By the Power in your Word, above only shall be my experience all through this month and onwards, in Jesus name – Amen.”
We have established that one of the ways to live above only is to hear and obey God’s voice consistently. What do we gain when we choose to follow His voice? The Bible says: “To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and LEADETH them out” (John 10:3)
If we choose to hear and obey God’s voice, He will lead us, and when He does, He will make us to ride on high places of the earth. Deut 32:12-13 says: “So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him. He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields…” Accessing the voice of God becomes vital in living above only.
What are other requirements to accessing the voice of God?
- Love for God. By loving God, you become His friend and gain access to His voice. Take Abraham, for example, who was so intimately connected with God that God shared everything with him (Gen 18:17). Jesus also said: “Henceforth I call you not servants: for the servant knoweth not what his Lord doeth; but I have called you friends: for all things that I have heard of my father I have made known unto you (John 15:15). The love of God in your heart qualifies you to access His voice.
- Peace. “Be still and you shall know that I am God” (Ps 46:10) “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it” (Is 30:21). You can’t hear God when you are troubled on the inside. Inner peace is essential to hearing God’s voice.
ACTION STEP:
Always set aside time to express your love for God in worship, be still, wait, and listen for God’s voice.
PRAYER: The voice of God, from today, will pave way for you to get to the top in Jesus name.
