DON’T GIVE IN TO FEAR

TEXT: “And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever” (Exo 14:13).

Let me bring to your notice this morning that the scripture is full of divine principles that guarantee testimonies in any circumstance, at any time. As we examine one of these principles today, I encourage you to put it into practice, and you will surely testify to God’s goodness.

What is this principle?

  • DON’T GIVE IN TO FEAR
Fear is the opposite of faith. You can’t have faith and fear at the same time. Fear is not of God, it is of the devil. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2Tim 1:7). Fear is a tool the devil uses to hinder God’s children from experiencing breakthroughs and receiving their long-awaited testimonies.

Fear brings doubt and doubt is a robber of miracles. That is why the Bible says: “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways” (Jam 1:6-8).

In the face of seemingly impossible situations, beloved, do not fear. Always be mindful that God is present with you, even in the midst of troubles. God’s promise to you today is: “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee” (Isaiah 43:1-3).

Fear means ‘believing in the devil’s ability.’ When you believe in what the devil can do, that is fear. On the other hand, faith means ‘believing in God’s ability.’ The report you believe determines whether you operate in faith or fear. So, my question to you today is: whose report do you believe concerning that situation you’re in? (Isaiah 53:1). Remember, God’s intervention requires faith, not fear. Let go of doubt, and choose faith to see your testimony become a reality!
