TEXT: “FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 – Emphasis mine).
Uncommon Favour is one of the rewards of those who love God wholeheartedly. As mentioned yesterday, our love for God is tested and proven by our obedience to Him and His Word. True love cannot be hidden; it is expressed both in words and in actions. It is not enough to sing that we love God; we must also put action to it. Another proof of our love for God that I want us to examine today is GIVING.
Today’s anchor scripture shows that giving is a proof of love. It says: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)
Giving is an expression of love. You cannot have true love for someone and not give to him/her. So also, you cannot love God and not give to Him and for His kingdom sake. Giving is one of the proofs of your love for God. If you love Him, you will give without being coerced to do so. If you truly love Him, you will not complain when giving to God is mentioned, rather, it will be a thing of Joy to you to do so. God first loved us and gave His only Son for us all (1John 4:19). And He had promised that if He could give His only son then, there is nothing He cannot freely give to us (Rom 8:32). Love is a giver and if you love God you will be a giver too.
God expects us to give willingly, cheerfully, bountifully and consistently, according to what we have and not according to what you don’t have (2Cor 9:6-7, 8:12). Giving is a test of the sincerity of our love for God (2Cor 8:8). Giving is of God and anybody who is of God should also learn to give to God and for His work without reservation.
Now that you know the proofs of love for God, I want you to be part of those who love God and who express it by their actions and not only in words.
PRAYER: As you demonstrate your love for God by your tireless giving to Him and His work, you shall be distinguished for lifting this month and always, in Jesus name.

This year 2024, I am advancing in adversity because I’ve been redeemed to flourish in hard times therefore my life shall be full of wonders. Amen and amen.
