DAY 17 (MTD ANNUAL 21 DAYS FAST)
TEXT: “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light” (Matt 6:22)
When I say importance of vision, I mean benefits we derive when we run our lives on vision. What is vision? Vision is the unfolding of God’s plan for us as individuals. God always have a plan for every of His child. There is no two you in the whole universe. Even twins has different destinies. You are not like every other person, you are unique in every way. If you don’t know that you are different, you will never make a difference in life. Vision is the discovery of God’s purpose for your life. I prophesy that the plan of God for your life this year shall manifest, in Jesus name.
Let’s see another importance of vision.
- Vision eliminates distractions in your journey in life. Jesus said in today’s anchor that: “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light” (Matt 6:22). Distraction is an enemy of any destiny that is glorious. This is because you can’t gain speed when you are distracted. Vision assists you to focus and to channel your life’s energy, abilities and resources to that which really matters to your destiny. There are visions within you waiting to be released. You have an important destiny to fulfill and a Kingdom assignment to complete. So, what is still holding you back? What is still distracting you from pursuing your purpose in life? It’s time you identify them.
Bishop Abioye said: “If satan can distract you then he can slow you down.” The Bishop defines distraction as branching here and there, not facing one’s duty or assignment. So staying focused is key to your unhindered progress. No one can make much of any task without being focused. So for you to maximize life and destiny, you have to be focused.
However, what is in this prayer and fasting?
SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY:
Prayer and fasting facilitates spiritual sensitivity. It helps us to be aware of the mind of God per time. It sharpens our spirit to catch what God is saying per time. Habakkuk said, I will set myself apart in prayer and fasting to know why this situation remains and he got the answer he needed. What about the apostles? It is in praying and fasting that God said to them to set apart Barnabas and Saul for the work of the ministry (Acts 13:1-3). Prayer and fasting helps us to stay tuned with God concerning any issue of concern to us. You will not be ignorant of God’s moves in and around you this year, in Jesus name.
PRAYER: You shall not end your journey with God halfway. Grace to forge ahead is yours today, in Jesus name.
DAILY CONFESSION:
This year 2024, I am advancing in adversity because I’ve been redeemed to flourish in hard times therefore my life shall be full of wonders. Amen and amen.
DAY 17 PRAYER GUIDELINES (WARING AGAINST THE SPIRIT OF ERROR):
- Father, thank you for helping us by your Spirit to pray aright since this prayer and fasting started (Rom 8:26-27)
- Father, any error or mistake that will cost me my life and destiny this year be far from me, in Jesus name (2Pet 3:17).
- Father, arise in your power and deliver me from the suffering that came as a result of my past errors, in Jesus name (2Cor 5:17).
- Ask God for other things (Phil 4:6)
