TEXT: “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting” (Matt 17:21)
What a season of answered prayer God has brought us to? You and I shall harvest answers to our prayers this season, in Jesus name.
Our focus has been on how our prayers can be answered without delay. God has no intension to delay answers to the prayers of His children. There’s no store room for prayers in heaven. This is why the Holy Spirit has been revealing to us what we must do to provoke answers to our prayers.
One of the things we must do is: “Fasting.” Jesus in today’s anchor scripture said that there are situations we will face in life that require that we add fasting to our prayers for them to give way. This is because, when we fast, there are spiritual benefits that help us to confront situations and overcome them.
These spiritual benefits include:
- OUTBURST OF REVELATION (Isaiah 58:6-8). One revelation from heaven is enough to put that devil off your back. You are still struggling with that issue because you don’t know what to do. Fasting gives you access into realms of what to do to overcome it. I encourage you this morning to set some days aside before the year is over to fast and to deal with that stubborn situation you’re facing right now. You shall overcome it, in Jesus name.
- FASTING CONFERS POWER ON YOU. Jesus went into prayer and fasting forty days and forty nights (Lk 4:1-2). It was recorded that He returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee and His destiny opened up (Read Lk 4:14-22). If you have put to work the secrets discussed so far and nothing happens, set some days aside for fasting. Two/three days of fasting for your story to change will not kill you, it will rather confer on you the authority required to check the devil out of your life. This kind doesn’t respond to prayer only, fasting is required also!
PRAYER: Your story is changing, in Jesus name.
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS FOR THE SEASON: You will not end this year empty, in Jesus name.
